How do I start buying Bitcoin with HKD cash in Hong Kong?
Buying Bitcoin at VBIT means paying HKD cash at a store and receiving BTC in your wallet. WhatsApp and WeChat are for enquiries and contact; the assets and HKD are settled at our physical stores in Mong Kok, Tsim Sha Tsui, Causeway Bay or Kwun Tong.
- Contact WhatsApp or WeChat on +852 6770 9992, say that you wish to buy BTC and provide your estimated HKD budget or BTC quantity.
- Check the current displayed rate and trade amount at the store, complete identity verification, and prepare your HKD cash and receiving wallet.
- Show your receiving-address QR code, check the full address, network and quantity with staff, then follow the store settlement procedure.
- The store initiates the transfer and issues a paper receipt. Check the blockchain record and receipt of BTC in your wallet.
For detailed steps, see Buying with HKD Cash. If you wish to Sell Bitcoin for HKD or Cash Out USDT, use the Selling and Cash Out; the payment direction and receiving address are different.
Bitcoin Buying Quote and Total HKD Payment
Ask for a quote through our official WhatsApp or check the current rate at a store. The trade uses the live quote agreed with the store when you visit; a cryptocurrency price shown on a public website is not the final quote for your cash trade.
Swipe or scroll sideways to read the full table.
| Item | What to Check |
|---|---|
| BTC Buying Quote | Check that the quote is for buying BTC with HKD and confirm the quantity for this trade. |
| HKD Payment | Confirm the total HKD cash to pay, then have staff count it in your presence. |
| BTC Received | Check the receiving address, transfer quantity and BTC actually received in your wallet. |
| Trade Record | Compare the currency, quantity, HKD amount and receiving address with your store receipt, and keep the trade records. |
To compare costs, divide the total HKD paid by the BTC actually received to calculate your effective cost per BTC. This is a way to check amounts, not a fixed fee. Use the Quote Enquiry Page to reach our official contact channels.
Prepare Identification, Cash and a Bitcoin Wallet
VBIT’s Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Terms require accurate, up-to-date identification before using the service and allow further verification by the store. Bring the HKD cash for your trade and your own wallet for receiving BTC. Before visiting, you can also read About VBIT and Our Stores.
How do I find my receiving address?
- Select BTC in your own wallet or receiving account, then open its Receive or Deposit screen.
- View the receiving address, QR code and network options, and check the transfer details with the store.
- After staff scan the QR code, compare the full address and currency with your wallet screen again.
If the recipient is a third-party platform, read its deposit rules first; its address and crediting conditions apply. A receiving address receives funds, while private keys and recovery phrases control the wallet. Keep the distinction clear and never give anyone your private keys or recovery phrase.
Check the Network, Address and Blockchain Record Separately
BTC, ETH and USDT are different assets. Do not transfer based only on the appearance or name of a wallet address. Before payment or transfer, check the asset name, matching network, full address and quantity with staff; do not mistake another asset’s receiving screen for a BTC address.
After the store initiates a transfer, view your wallet’s transaction record and use the transaction ID (TXID) to check the sending address, receiving address and quantity on the blockchain. Sent, confirmed on the blockchain and credited by the receiving platform are different states and should be checked separately.
Keep your paper receipt and blockchain record. If your wallet does not show the BTC, check the address and transaction status, then contact the store through official channels. Avoid paying again simply because you are waiting.

Bitcoin Basics to Understand before Buying
What is Bitcoin?
Bitcoin (BTC) is a digital asset that uses a blockchain to record transactions. When buying BTC directly, understand who holds the assets and how to receive and manage BTC with a wallet.
How Bitcoin Works: Blockchain, Keys and Mining
The Bitcoin network records transactions on a distributed ledger. Private keys authorise spending, and miners help validate transactions and add them to blocks. A wallet showing Sent, blockchain confirmation and crediting by the receiving platform are separate states to check.
Bitcoin’s Features and Limitations
Bitcoin can be transferred over a network, and users may hold their own private keys, taking responsibility for custody and operation. Public blockchain records do not mean complete anonymity, and decentralisation does not mean prices are unaffected by markets or policy news.
What risks come with buying Bitcoin?
BTC prices fluctuate. Losing wallet details, sending to a wrong address or using an incompatible network can cause asset loss. Blockchain transfers are usually difficult to reverse, while leaving assets on a third-party platform involves custody risk. Understand price and custody risks before trading.
Buying Bitcoin with HKD Cash: Common Questions
Which currencies can I buy with HKD cash besides Bitcoin?
VBIT offers HKD cash purchases of six non-stablecoin assets: BTC, ETH, SOLANA, BNB, DOGE and TRX. USDT is not available for purchase. See the OTC Buying Service.
Can I pay online to buy BTC?
VBIT trades only at physical OTC stores and has no online exchange platform. WhatsApp and WeChat are for quotes and store enquiries; HKD is settled in cash at the store. If you encounter an online exchange claiming to represent VBIT, read the Official Impersonation Warning and verify it using the contact details on our official website.
What should I prepare before visiting?
Prepare accurate, up-to-date identification, HKD cash and a BTC receiving address or QR code. Open your wallet’s BTC receiving screen before visiting so you do not have to find the address at the store.
BTC has been sent. Why has my wallet not credited it yet?
Sending, blockchain confirmation and crediting by a wallet or platform are separate steps. Check the blockchain status using the TXID, then check the receiving address and the platform’s crediting rules. Keep your receipt and ask the store about the transaction.
Will I receive a trade record after buying?
The store issues a paper trade receipt. Check that its amount and address match your trade, and keep the receipt and blockchain record for any enquiries.
Can I use the same process to buy USDT with HKD?
No. VBIT only accepts USDT sold by customers for HKD cash and does not sell USDT to customers. See the USDT Cash Out and Selling Procedure.
