Bitcoin and related company share prices

Rising Bitcoin prices helped Hong Kong crypto-related stocks buck the broader market decline. Boyaa Interactive rose nearly 8%. The company had begun buying cryptoassets in 2023. By the end of the first half of 2024, the original report valued its digital assets at about 1.688 billion yuan, representing 75% of total assets and more than 90% of current assets.

Other crypto-related shares, including Meitu, also rose, suggesting stronger confidence in the sector. The broader Hong Kong market remained weak, with the technology index down more than 3%, highlighting diverging performance.

Analysts said rapid crypto growth, especially Bitcoin's rise, supported related shares. They nevertheless urged investors to remain cautious about market risk.

Crypto-related shares versus directly holding BTC

Company shares are different from BTC. Share prices also reflect operations, debt and corporate decisions; they do not track coin prices at a fixed ratio. For directly buying or selling BTC, see the Bitcoin Buying Guide and BTC to HKD Service.
