This is a historical market review. Read prices and views in their original context; they are not current market data or forecasts of returns.

October 2024 discussion of PEPE focused on a retreat after sharp price gains and a market capitalisation of about $4.374 billion. These figures reflect the original historical context, not current valuation or execution prices.

Market capitalisation versus flows

Cryptoasset market capitalisation is generally estimated by multiplying price by circulating supply. See CoinGecko's calculation method. Capitalisation changes with price and supply; it is not the actual money entering a market or an assurance that every holder can sell at the displayed price.

A small market cap does not mean easier profits

Smaller tokens may face insufficient buyers, liquidity risks and sharp price changes. Market capitalisation alone cannot establish that a project is more likely to double or provide higher returns.

When reading market analysis, check the date, circulating supply, volume and sources. Price expectations in the original article should not be treated as a current reason to buy.
